Curly Cuff Jacket
The Curly Cuff Jacket has a short and oversize fit with attached pockets. The jacket is worked top down with raglan increases at the yoke. After felting, the bouclé yarn facings are sewn on the inside of the collar, along the jacket opening, on the inside of the pocket flap and at the sleeve cuffs.
Yarn: Vams PT3 by Rauma and Mohair Bouclé by Mohair by Canard. Alternatives for Mohair Bouclé: Pillpi by Rauma, Curly by Jarbö or Alpaca Bouclé by Drops. The bouclé yarn used and pictured here is from Novah Design. As they only hand-dye their yarn to order, it is not very easy to obtain. In addition, it has a different gauge than the one given here in the instruction. However, if you really want to knit with this yarn, please feel free to make contact if you need help calculating the correct number of stitches.
Amount of yarn: Vams PT3 19 (22) skeins. Mohair Bouclé 2 skeins for both sizes. You might want to buy an additional skein of Vams PT3 for your gauge swatch(es).
Sizes: S/M (M/L).
Measurements: Chest circumference (jacket): approx. 115 (129) cm. Length: approx. 58 (60) cm.
Recommended needles: Circular needle 6 and 4 mm (80 cm). Circular needle 6 mm (40 cm). Circular needle 4 mm (30 cm) or dpns 4 mm.
Gauge: Vams PT3 (before felting): 16 sts x 25 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Vams PT3 (after felting): 18 sts x 30 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Mohair Bouclé (no felting): 18 sts x 30 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm.
Supplies: Sewing needle and thread, in the same or similar colour as the bouclé yarn.
NOTE! Felting is not an exact science and the result depends on several factors. Depending on which washing machine and/or which washing program is used or even with which other garments your work is washed, the result can vary.
