Rilleruth Jacket Junior
Rilleruth Jacket junior is worked top down. You start with the back piece in rows, before you pick up new stitches at both shoulders to work both front pieces. This way, the neckline is shaped. Once the yoke is finished, front and back are joined and the body is worked in rows, too. Thereafter, you pick up stitches around the armholes and work the sleeves in rounds with decreases. Both sleeves and body are finished with wide ribbings. You then pick up stitches for a ribbing at the neckline and front bands. The pockets are worked separately and are sewn to the jacket at the end.
Yarn: Hip Wool by HipKnitShop.
Amount of yarn: 4 (5) 6 (7) 8 (9) 10 (11) skeins.
Sizes: 6 months (1) 2 (4) 6 (8) 10 (12) year(s).
Fit: The jacket has an oversized fit. The pictured model is 14 months old, has a chest circumference of approx. 48 cm and wears size 2 years with a positive ease of 27 cm.
Measurements: Chest circumference 65 (70) 75 (80) 85 (90) 95 (100) cm. Inner sleeve length 14 (16) 20 (24) 27 (31) 35 (39) cm (double folded cuffs). Total length from shoulder top approx. 28 (32) 36 (40) 42 (46) 50 (54) cm.
Recommended needles: Circular needle 4 and 5 mm, 60 cm. Circular needle 4 and 5 mm, 30 cm. Dpns 4 mm. The needle size is just a recommendation. Please knit a gauge swatch first! Many knitters have different gauges when knitting in rows or in rounds. In this instruction, you will work in rows and rounds. Therefore, different needle sizes may be necessary. For example, you may need a 4.5 mm needle when knitting in rows and a 5 mm needle when knitting in rounds.
Gauge: 17 stitches x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Supplies: 4 (4) 4 (5) 5 (5) 6 (6) buttons. The buttons at the green jacket have a diameter of approx. 2 cm.
