Slipper Sally

Slipper Sally

Slipper Sally starts with the sole, which is worked back and forth on dpns. The top of the slipper is worked the same as the sole, but is divided into two pieces to create an opening for the foot. The slippers are then sewn together before picking up stitches for the ribbing. On the next page, you can see how the slippers are constructed before they are sewn together and the ribbing is worked.

Gauge: 22 stitches x 20 garter ridges = 10 x 10 cm. 1 garter ridge = 2 rows in garter stitch. In the instruction, you find explanations for 2 additional gauges: 28 stitches x 25 garter ridges = 10 x 10 cm and 16 stitches x 15 garter ridges = 10 x 10 cm. This opens up many possibilities in terms of yarn. The pattern has not been tested in these gauges, but is intended as a supplement so that you can use more types and leftover yarns.
Recommended needles: Dpns 3,5 and 4 mm. The needle size is just a recommendation. Please knit a gauge swatch first!
Yarn: Fivel by Rauma.
Amount of yarn: 1 (1) 1 (2) 2 skein(s). The instruction has more detailed information about yardage, so it is easier to choose an alternative yarn or to work with stash yarn.
